Rapides/Avoyelles Parishes, LA (1/5/2025) – Vehicle break-ins and vandalism have been reported across Avoyelles and Rapides Parishes over the weekend, alarming residents in multiple areas.
Incidents have been concentrated in the Echo, Poland, and Pineville areas of Rapides Parish, as well as the 5th Ward and Belldeau areas of Avoyelles Parish.
According to reports, thieves are smashing vehicle windows and stealing items, including jewelry, weapons, money, and other personal belongings. UrbanCast has received numerous complaints from concerned residents about the growing problem.
The Public Information Officers (PIO) for the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office said the office is actively investigating the incidents and has been working throughout the weekend to identify the suspects. No additional details have been released at this time.
