DEVILLE, La. (UrbanCast: 6/15/2026) — A Deville woman is facing felony charges after investigators alleged she stole more than $450,000 from a former employer over a three-year period.
The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office said detectives assigned to the Kolin Substation received a report from a Pineville-area business on May 13, 2026. The business alleged that former employee Molly Goynes, 35, unlawfully took a large amount of money while employed there.
RPSO did not disclose the name of the business involved.
According to investigators, the alleged theft occurred between 2023 and 2026. Detectives then launched an investigation that included reviewing bank records, computer programs, and other business documents.
As the investigation progressed, detectives said they uncovered evidence supporting the allegations. Investigators ultimately determined that more than $450,000 was allegedly taken from the business during the three-year period.
As a result, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Goynes on one count of Theft Over $25,000 and one count of Obstruction of Justice – Evidence Tampering.
On June 5, 2026, Goynes voluntarily surrendered at the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Detectives arrested her on the outstanding warrants and booked her into the facility.
Authorities said she was later released after posting a $10,000 bond.
