The meetings will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the GAEDA office located at 720 Murray Street in Alexandria. The public is invited to attend in accordance with Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law.

Several funding requests are scheduled for consideration during the Economic Development Committee meeting.

Committee members will consider a request from the Louisiana Rural Waterway Association for up to $40,000. The funding would help cover meal expenses for the organization’s Mini-Conference scheduled for October 19-23, 2026.

The conference is expected to utilize the Holiday Inn Downtown, Hotel Bentley, and Randolph Riverfront Center.

The committee will also consider a request from the United Most Worshipful King George Grand Lodge Grand Session of Louisiana. The organization is seeking up to $20,000 for meals, advertising, and marketing.

The 103rd Masonic Grand Lodge Grand Session is scheduled for October 15-18, 2026, at Hotel Bentley.

In addition, the Rapides Senior Citizens Center is requesting up to $5,000. The funding would assist with meals, advertising, and marketing for the Golden Legends Red Carpet Celebration.

That event is scheduled for August 21, 2026, at the Pineville Main Street Community Center.

Committee members will also review a request from Genesis of Eve Catholic Ministries for up to $30,000. The organization seeks assistance with meals, advertising, and marketing for its conference planned for September 17-20, 2026.

The Genesis of Eve Conference is expected to take place at the Randolph Riverfront Center.

If approved, the four requests could total up to $95,000 in funding.
