Former Deputy Indicted on 12 Child Sex Crime Charges in Livingston Parish

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (UrbanCast: 6/15/2026) — A Livingston Parish grand jury has indicted former law enforcement officer Nicholas LoCicero on 12 child sex crime charges involving two juvenile victims.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced Monday that jurors returned a true bill charging LoCicero with five counts of first-degree rape of a child under 13, one count of sexual battery of a child under 13, three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and three counts of molestation of a juvenile.

The court ordered that LoCicero be held without bond.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, prosecutors presented the case to the grand jury Monday morning. Jurors reportedly deliberated for approximately three minutes before returning a true bill on all 12 counts.

Officials said the case involves two female victims, with the charges separated by victim. The majority of the charges relate to the younger victim.

LoCicero was arrested in October 2024 following a Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving two children.

He worked for both the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office during his law enforcement career.

According to previous reports, Livingston Parish officials terminated LoCicero in 2022 for conduct unbecoming and unsatisfactory work performance. He later returned to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. That agency placed him on administrative leave after learning of the allegations and terminated him before his 2024 arrest.

Murrill said her office will aggressively prosecute crimes involving children.

“Crimes against children are among the most serious offenses my office prosecutes. Anyone accused of preying on a child in Louisiana will be pursued aggressively by my office and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No one is above the law, especially those sworn to uphold it,” Murrill said.

No additional information was released.

All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
