Upcoming Alexandria City Council Meeting Scheduled for March 11, 2025

ALEXANDRIA, La. (3/11/2025) – The Alexandria City Council Meeting is set for today, March 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Community members wishing to address the council should inform the president at the appropriate agenda item.

During the Alexandria City Council Meeting, the council will review ordinances authorizing the mayor to accept low bids. These include operating supplies for the Gas and Wastewater Departments and cast/ductile iron materials. Additionally, council members will consider renewing a contract with Clean Earth of Alabama, Incorporated for household hazardous waste services.

The council will introduce professional services agreements with several engineering and surveying firms, including Pan American Engineers, LLC, Ballard CLC, Incorporated, and Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix, and Hixson, Incorporated.

Resolutions will focus on community involvement and sponsorship. These resolutions propose co-sponsoring events such as the United Way of Central Louisiana Prisoner Reentry Initiative, the Girls on the Run Spring 5K, and the Holi Fest 2025 hosted by the Children’s Advocacy Network and Cenla India Association.

Final adoption of ordinances is also on the agenda, specifically for street and drainage improvements for Adrienne Drive at Hope House Residential Development. Another ordinance up for final adoption involves an agreement for the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Capital Improvement Project on Masonic Drive.

A significant public hearing will address the potential condemnation of 25 structures.
