TIOGA, La. (UrbanCast: 6/29/2026) — Tioga High School senior Lauren Taylor will continue her cheerleading career at the collegiate level. The 2025–2026 Cheer Captain has officially earned a spot on the Northwestern State University Cheer Team.
Taylor leaves Tioga with an impressive list of accomplishments. More importantly, she built a reputation as a leader in the classroom, in athletics, and throughout the school community.
Coaches praised Taylor for her work ethic, leadership, and character. They said she consistently led by example, whether cheering on the sidelines, competing on the mat, playing softball, or encouraging teammates.
During her high school career, Taylor served four years as a varsity cheerleader. She also held leadership roles as junior-year co-captain and senior-year captain.
Her success extended well beyond team leadership. Taylor earned All-American Cheerleader honors five times and claimed a Top Gun Stunt championship. She also received an NCA Staff nomination, the Most Versatile Award, and the Captain’s Award.
In addition, Taylor earned the team’s MVP Award during her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. She helped Tioga capture the 2026 NCA Championship and an All-Star World Championship.
Academically, Taylor matched her athletic success. She spent five years in student leadership and served as both class vice president and class secretary. She also worked two years as a Chiefs Mentor.
Taylor maintained A Honor Roll status throughout all four years of high school. Furthermore, she earned Student of the Month recognition every year and became a Student of the Year nominee.
Her coaches said Taylor’s achievements reflect years of dedication, passion, and perseverance. They expressed confidence that she will continue to excel at Northwestern State University.
As she begins the next chapter, Taylor carries with her the pride of Tioga High School and the support of an entire community. Her journey stands as another example of local student-athletes reaching the next level through hard work and commitment.
