Human Remains Believed to Be Missing Alexandria Man Jakoby Kahey Found in Boyce

ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 7/10/2026) — The Alexandria Police Department announced Friday morning that investigators recovered human remains believed to be those of 22-year-old Jakoby Kahey, bringing a heartbreaking end to the search for the missing Alexandria man.

According to APD, detectives and partner law enforcement agencies conducted a coordinated search on Thursday near the intersection of Christine Drive and Moss Point Drive in Boyce. During the operation, investigators discovered human remains in the 100 block of Christine Drive.

While an autopsy is pending to officially confirm the identity, police said preliminary evidence strongly indicates the remains are those of Kahey, who was reported missing on July 5.

Earlier this week, detectives announced the missing person investigation had become a homicide investigation after uncovering evidence of foul play.

Authorities Have Arrested

Authorities have arrested 25-year-old Daviyone Mock of Alexandria and 20-year-old Taylor Jenkins of Killeen, Texas. Both have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Kahey’s death.

Mock is being held in the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Jenkins remains in custody in Bell County, Texas, awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

Police said the investigation remains active, and additional charges or arrests are possible as detectives continue gathering evidence.

The Alexandria Police Department said the investigation involved a coordinated effort between the Alexandria Police Department, Louisiana State Police, the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Cavazos, the VCAT initiative, and the Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office.

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Alexandria Police Detective Division at (318) 441-6416, APD Dispatch at (318) 441-6559, or Crime Stoppers of CenLa at (318) 443-7867. Tips may also be submitted through the P3 Tips mobile app.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Heartbreaking Confirmation

Friday’s announcement brings heartbreaking confirmation to a family and community that never stopped hoping for a different outcome. While the search for Jakoby has ended, the pursuit of justice continues.

Today, our thoughts and prayers remain with Jakoby’s mother, Ms. Jackie Chapman, along with his family, friends, and everyone who loved him. Central Louisiana came together hoping for his safe return. Instead, the community now mourns the loss of a young life taken far too soon. While nothing can erase this heartbreaking loss, we pray Ms. Chapman and her family find strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead. We also hope they find some measure of solace knowing an entire community stood beside them throughout the search for Jakoby and continues to stand with them now.

All persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
