Sunday’s Weather (1/22/2023)

A departing surface low is in the vicinity of South Mississippi this morning. The short wave that provided lift Saturday has lifted into mid-MS Valley.

However, a weaker disturbance is moving east across Central TX. Another upper disturbance is over the
Pacific NW.

Today the surface low and Mid MS short wave will continue to move east. This will push most wet weather farther away from the local region. However, the TX short wave will move across east TX and LA early today.

This may allow a few showers to stream back into lower Acadiana this morning. While most lifts will be well removed to the east of our area, the drier air mass still lingers to the northwest. This will filter in through today with the post-frontal stratus exiting.

Mostly clear skies are anticipated by afternoon or early evening. Temps will be slightly cooler than norms through Monday.
