LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (6/1/2026) — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Zarious Morrison, 18, and Markayla Angelle, 19.
Both are wanted for the second-degree murder of Wykiel Provost, 17, of Lafayette. The incident occurred on April 20, 2026, in the 100 block of Sweetbriar Road in Lafayette Parish.
Provost was an Acadiana High School student. Authorities said he was involved in a shooting and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead.
The Lafayette Parish Coroner’s Office said Provost died from a gunshot wound.
Following his death, the Lafayette Parish School System released a statement expressing condolences to the family, friends, classmates, and school community. LPSS said Provost attended Acadiana High School and was also involved with the W.D. Mary Baker Smith Career Center.
