Alexandria Woman Dies Following Two-Vehicle Crash on Coliseum Boulevard; Another Remains Hospitalized

ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 10/25/2026) — A Saturday evening crash on Coliseum Boulevard has claimed the life of a 65-year-old Alexandria woman. Another person remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

The Alexandria Police Department identified the deceased driver as Sharon Logan, who suffered critical injuries in the collision.

According to APD, officers responded to the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard and Heyman Lane around 6:59 p.m. Saturday, October 24.

The crash involved a red Dodge Charger and a silver Cadillac SRX.

Investigators said the Cadillac was traveling westbound on Coliseum Boulevard when it collided with the Dodge Charger. Logan was driving southbound on Heyman Lane and attempting to cross Coliseum Boulevard.

Emergency personnel from the Alexandria Fire Department and EMS responded to assist those injured.

First responders transported Logan to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she died while undergoing surgery.

Meanwhile, a passenger in Logan’s vehicle sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized.

The Cadillac’s driver suffered minor injuries. Medical personnel treated the driver at a local hospital before releasing them.

Investigation Continues

Alexandria police continue investigating what led to the collision.

As part of the investigation, authorities collected routine toxicology samples from both drivers. Investigators submitted those samples to the Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory for analysis.

Results remain pending.

Importantly, APD emphasized that investigators have not determined whether impairment played a role or established fault in the crash.

The department released its findings Sunday morning, providing additional details about the collision and confirming Logan’s death.

UrbanCast initially received reports of the crash around 8 p.m. Saturday. Photographs shared with UrbanCast showed extensive vehicle damage and emergency personnel working at the scene.

At that time, authorities had not confirmed the extent of the injuries.
