CENTREVILLE, Miss. (UrbanCast: 7/4/2026) — Two people were killed and seven others were injured in a mass shooting early Saturday morning near Orchard Cafe on Highway 24, according to the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they received a call around 12:55 a.m. from Fields Health System. Hospital staff reported that multiple gunshot victims had arrived at the emergency room.
Authorities said nine people suffered gunshot wounds during the incident. All victims were transported to the hospital by private vehicles.
Two male victims later died from their injuries, investigators said.
Meanwhile, three additional victims were transferred to an out-of-area trauma center for further treatment. Four others received medical care and were later released.
The Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Centreville Police Department with the investigation. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has also joined the case.
Investigators have not released the identities of the victims. Additionally, no information about a suspect or a possible motive has been announced.
