Colfax, La. (UrbanCast: 6/18/2026) — The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Natchitoches man following a lengthy investigation.
Mark Damien Cedars, 41, believed he was communicating with a child online. He was actually messaging a Grant Parish detective.
According to the sheriff’s office, Cedars sent explicit messages to the detective. He believed he was speaking with a young girl in Grant Parish. Investigators say Cedars planned to travel to Grant Parish to meet her.
Deputies arrested Cedars before any meeting occurred. He faces a charge of computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes. He also faces a charge of indecent behavior with juveniles.
The sheriff’s office released Cedars’ booking photo after the arrest. Officials have not announced a bond amount or court date.
