Domestic Dispute Call Leads to Narcotics Arrest in Alexandria

Alexandria, LA (10/31/2024) – A domestic dispute led to a narcotics arrest in Alexandria on October 20, 2024 according Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Officers from the Alexandria Police Department (APD) responded to a call at 4015 Lakeside Drive, apartment 807, involving 19-year-old Tyrik De’Shaun Jackson. During their investigation, officers discovered Jackson was the sole tenant and possessed marijuana and at least one firearm in his apartment.

APD notified agents from the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) unit, who assisted in the narcotics investigation. Based on information from APD officers, RADE agents obtained a search warrant for Jackson’s apartment.

The search revealed 19 individually wrapped plastic baggies containing 139.1 grams of marijuana, an AK-style rifle, a loaded 60-round magazine, various amounts of additional ammunition, and a digital scale.

Authorities arrested Jackson without incident and transported him to the Rapides Parish Detention Center. He was booked for possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal carrying of firearms with drugs.

APD officers also charged Jackson with various offenses related to the domestic abuse allegations and two outstanding contempt of court warrants. Jackson was released the following day on a $15,500 bond for the narcotics charges.
