Derry, LA (4/8/2023) – Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) reported a female and toddler suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate-49 near Derry on Friday, April 7, 2023.
On Friday evening at approximately 6:00 pm, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 First Responders responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash with possible injuries on I-49 (Southbound) near Derry, La.
Units arrived on the scene, finding a two-vehicle crash with one vehicle off the road and the other partially blocking the roadway.
A female and a 3-year-old child occupying a 2014 Chevrolet Impala were transported from the scene by EMS to a regional trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The operator of a 2002 Ford Ranger was treated at the scene by EMS and released without transport.
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria investigated the crash.
