Mars Petcare US Issues Voluntary Recall of PEDIGREE® Dog Food Due to Potential Metal Contamination

Franklin, TN — Mars Petcare US has announced a voluntary recall of 315 bags of PEDIGREE® Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food in the 44 lb. bag size due to potential contamination with loose metal pieces. The affected products were sold exclusively by Walmart in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The Best By Date and Lot Code can be found on the bottom seal on the back of the bag.

The presence of loose metal pieces in the dog food could pose a significant health risk to pets. Mars Petcare US advises pet owners to monitor their pets for any unusual behavior and consult a veterinarian if they suspect their pet has consumed the affected product.

There have been no reports of injuries or illnesses related to the potentially affected product. However, consumers who have purchased this product are urged to stop using it immediately.
