Body Found in Super 1 Foods Parking Lot: Rapides Coroner Confirms Details, Alexandria Officials Remain Silent

ALEXANDRIA, La. (11/26/2024) – On Monday, November 25, 2024, reports surfaced about a body found in the Super 1 Foods parking lot in Alexandria.

Witnesses described heavy police activity, along with fire department and ambulance responders at the scene. A witness noted that first responders performed CPR in an attempt to save a white male believed to be in his 40s. Later, ambulance personnel took over the medical efforts.

The following day, UrbanCast/InvolvedInItAll.com reached out to both the City of Alexandria and the Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office for clarification. While the coroner’s office promptly responded, the City of Alexandria stayed silent, despite the request.

The Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed that a 43-year-old man died in the parking lot due to a medical emergency at 7:30 PM on November 25, 2024. Although his identity is known, it has not been disclosed pending notification of his next of kin. Additional investigations are underway.

In contrast, the City of Alexandria did not acknowledge or reply to requests for comment. In July, Robert Distefano, Public Information Officer for the Alexandria Police Department, indicated that Michael Caffery, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, handles all media inquiries. Despite this, emails to Mr. Caffery and other city officials remain unanswered.

This silence raises questions about transparency and communication from the City of Alexandria during critical incidents. As more details emerge, the community seeks accountability and clearer communication from local authorities.
