Pineville, La. (UrbanCast: 9/8/2026) – Pineville High School has officially opened several major campus improvements funded through a voter-approved bond.
School officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at D.C. Bill Bates Stadium before Friday evening’s season-opening home football game.
The improvements include a new synthetic turf field, resurfaced track and paved parking lot.
District 52 voters approved the bond in May 2025 to fund improvements across Pineville schools.
The synthetic turf provides a more durable playing surface during wet weather. It also reduces the need to relocate games because of field conditions.
The resurfaced track gives runners safer, more consistent footing for training and competition. It also positions Pineville to host additional meets.
The newly paved parking lot includes marked spaces and provides safer traffic flow around the stadium.
Principal John Neal thanked Pineville voters for supporting the improvements.
“This project and many others on campus are being funded by a bond issue,” Neal said.
Neal said the investment will help provide better facilities and opportunities for students.
Athletic Director Justin Charles joined Neal at center field for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
School board members Steve Berry, Marie Ashmore and George Johnson also attended. Director of Secondary Education Matt Byrnes represented the school system.
Other guests included Louisiana House Speaker Pro Tempore Mike Johnson and Pineville City Councilman Hugh Halle.
Lindsay Green of Louisiana Central also attended.
The school system said additional projects funded through the 2025 bond remain underway across Pineville schools. District records also list several other Pineville High projects.
