ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 7/9/2026) — A large law enforcement response was reported early Thursday morning at the Siegel Select hotel on North MacArthur Drive following what witnesses described as a jumper incident.
UrbanCast began receiving reports from supporters at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, that multiple law enforcement agencies had responded to the hotel. Witnesses reported officers blocked access to portions of the property and restricted people from entering or leaving while emergency personnel worked the scene.
Photos and videos submitted to UrbanCast show numerous law enforcement vehicles, including an Alexandria Police Department K-9 unit, at the location.
Around 5:15 a.m., multiple witnesses told UrbanCast that a person had reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of the hotel. According to those eyewitness accounts, the individual was transported from the scene by ambulance. UrbanCast has not independently confirmed those details, and the person’s condition is unknown.
As of this publication, the Alexandria Police Department has not released any official information regarding the incident.Under the city’s current communications process, official APD public information is released after being cleared through City Hall.
