ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 7/8/2026) — Alexandria Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with the July 6 shooting on Green Street.
According to the Alexandria Police Department, officers arrested Terry Dewayne Cohen Jr., 18, on Tuesday, July 7, at approximately 5 p.m. Police charged him with one count of attempted second-degree murder.
Cohen was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center at approximately 6:43 p.m. Tuesday. As of Wednesday morning, bond had not been set, according to the Rapides Parish inmate inquiry system.
The Alexandria Police Department also thanked the Louisiana State Police for assisting with the apprehension.
UrbanCast’s review of Rapides Parish jail records also shows Cohen was previously arrested on April 28, 2026, on multiple felony charges. Those charges included manufacturing or distributing controlled dangerous substances or counterfeit substances, two counts of illegal carrying of a firearm while in possession of drugs, and criminal conspiracy.
Jail records indicate Cohen was released on April 30, 2026, after posting a total of $100,000 in bonds related to that case.
The Green Street shooting investigation remains ongoing.
