Many Man Arrested Friday on Drug, Resisting Charges After Traffic Stop

MANY, La. (UrbanCast: 6/22/2026) — Sheriff Aaron Mitchell announced Monday that a Many man was arrested last Friday following a narcotics investigation and traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Coby Aron Cooley, 33, of Many, was taken into custody on Friday, June 19, 2026, after the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Tactical Narcotic Team stopped him for a traffic violation on US Highway 171 north of Converse.

Cooley had been under investigation for suspected narcotics sales in Sabine Parish for several months.

During the stop, T.N.T. agents located and seized nearly four ounces of suspected methamphetamine, approximately nine suspected fentanyl pills, glass smoking devices, and a digital measuring scale. When placed under arrest, Cooley actively resisted deputies.

Cooley was transported to the Sabine Parish Detention Center and booked on the following charges:

•   Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine)
•   Possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
•   Possession of drug paraphernalia
•   Second or subsequent drug offenses
•   Resisting an officer
•   Speeding

No bond has been set at this time.
