Alexandria, LA (9/3/2024) – The Alexandria Police Department has arrested a 14-year-old juvenile in connection with the Academy shooting incident on August 20, 2024.
The juvenile is accused of reckless driving along South MacArthur Drive and a shooting that occurred at the Academy.
On Monday, September 2, 2024, the juvenile from Alexandria, LA, was formally charged and booked into the Renaissance Home for Youth. The charges include armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, illegal use of a weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, terrorizing, reckless operation, and running away.
The charges stem from an incident on August 20, 2024, in the 3200 block of South MacArthur Drive. The juvenile’s reckless driving led to a crash, exacerbating the situation further.
This is currently an ongoing investigation, and the Alexandria Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward.
