Simmesport Police Arrest Two Men in Separate Incidents

SIMMESPORT, La. (6/7/2026) — Simmesport Police arrested two men in separate incidents and booked both into the Avoyelles Parish Jail in Marksville.

Police arrested Trenell Pate, 27, at the Y-Not Stop in Simmesport. Authorities had previously considered Pate armed and dangerous.

Officers took Pate into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.

Pate was booked on charges of terrorizing/menacing, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and simple battery.

Chief Damion Jacobs thanked the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and citizens who provided information that assisted the investigation.

In a separate case, officers arrested O’Bryan Collins after observing him enter a business from which he had been banned.

During the arrest, officers discovered Collins had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear related to a charge of principal to second-degree murder.

Collins was booked on charges of remaining after being forbidden, possession of CDS I, and contempt of court through the 12th Judicial District Court.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
