Simmesport Police Arrest Man Following Search Warrant at Shenandoah Apartments

Simmesport, La. (5/22/2026) – A Simmesport man is facing multiple felony charges following a search warrant operation at a local apartment complex Thursday.

Officers with the Simmesport Police Department executed the search warrant at the Shenandoah Apartments on May 21 during an ongoing investigation.

During the operation, officers arrested Christian Matthew Scott, 28, without incident.

Investigators also recovered evidence connected to the alleged crimes tied to the case.

Scott faces charges of aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and felony domestic abuse battery.

After the arrest, officers transported Scott to the Avoyelles Parish Jail in Marksville for booking.

Meanwhile, Simmesport Police Chief Jacobs thanked the assisting agencies and officers who helped with the investigation and apprehension.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the investigation at this time.

The Simmesport Police Department also reminded the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
