Shreveport, LA (6/2/2023) – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) reported a teacher aide was arrested for alegedly having sex with a male student.
In May of 2023, SPD Sex Crimes Detectives were contacted about an incident that occurred in the 8500 of East Kingston Road.
The responding detective was contacted by a concerned parent that stated her juvenile son was possibly involved sexually with a teacher’s aide at that location.
A forensic interview was conducted on the juvenile who disclosed a sexual relationship with the educator.
On May 30th, 2023, Jessica Sims, 36, was arrested by Detectives and charged with one count of Prohibited Sexual Conduct between an Educator and Student.
Prohibited Sexual Conduct between an Educator and Student is described as: (1) An educator has sexual intercourse with a person who is seventeen years of age or older, but less than twenty-one years of age, where there is an age difference of greater than four years between the two persons when the victim is not the spouse of the offender and is a student at the school where the educator is assigned, employed, or working at the time of the offense. (2) An educator commits any lewd or lascivious act upon a student or in the virtual or physical presence of a student who is seventeen years of age or older, but less than twenty-one years of age, where there is an age difference of greater than four years between the two persons, with the intention of gratifying the sexual desires of either person, when the victim is a student at the school in which the educator is assigned, employed, or working at the time of the offense. (3) An educator intentionally engages in the touching of the anus or genitals of a student seventeen years of age or older, but less than twenty-one years of age, where there is an age difference of greater than four years between the two persons, using any instrumentality or any part of the body of the educator, or the touching of the anus or genitals of the educator by a person seventeen years of age or older, but less than twenty-one years of age, where there is an age difference of greater than four years between the two persons, when the victim is a student at the school in which the educator is assigned, employed, or working at the time of the offense using any instrumentality or any part of the body of the student.
