What: Acadian Ambulance is holding an Open House to introduce its Explorer program to students in East Central Louisiana – Avoyelles, Concordia, Evangeline, Grant, Rapides, and neighboring parishes. Students in grades 9-12 and their parents are invited to a free open house to learn about the Explorer program, meet with Acadian’s team of advisors, and sign up to become an Explorer. If students are under 18, a parent is required to attend with them.

What is an Explorer?
Acadian Explorers provide assistance and basic medical services at community events, fairs, festivals and sporting events, and learn how to work together in a team setting.
- Shadow Acadian Ambulance EMS crews while working at events
- Ride along on the ambulance
- Build a medical résumé
- Become CPR-certified through AHA
- Obtain a sponsorship for EMT school through National EMS Academy
