Shreveport, LA (5/18/2024) – In the early hours of Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting incident at the intersection of West 70th Street and Wyngate Boulevard in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.
At approximately 6:25 a.m., SPD officers arrived at the scene to find a juvenile female suffering from a gunshot wound to her shin. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
Preliminary reports from the scene suggest that the young victim was walking in the area when she observed a man driving a blue Kia. Shortly after the vehicle passed by, she heard a gunshot and then realized she had been hit.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident. No suspects have been apprehended, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time. The SPD is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
