HOUSTON, TX (4/13/2025) — Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy has passed away in Houston at the age of 24, according to a family member.
A native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Lacy was known for his talent on the field and his towering presence as a receiver. In LSU’s most recent season, he led the Tigers in re`ceiving touchdowns with nine and ranked second in catches (58) and yards (866).
His collegiate career, which began at the University of Louisiana before transferring to LSU, included 162 receptions, 2,360 receiving yards, and 26 touchdowns.
News of his passing comes just one day before a grand jury was scheduled to hear evidence related to a hit-and-run crash in Lafourche Parish for which Lacy had been arrested earlier this year.
While his life was recently marked by legal struggles, those who knew Lacy remember a young man who worked hard to build a career in football and brought pride to his hometown.
As the LSU community and his family grieve this loss, many reflect on both his athletic legacy and the heartbreak of a life gone too soon.
