Deputy Sheriff Arrested for Sexual Battery and Malfeasance in Rapides Parish

PINEVILLE, La (1/4/2025) – A Deputy Sheriff arrested for sexual battery and malfeasance in Rapides Parish.

On December 30, 2024, Corrections Security Investigators received a complaint of potential criminal sexual conduct involving Deputy Sheriff Steven D. Littleton, 60, of Pineville, LA. Littleton, who was assigned to oversee Inmate Work Crews, was accused of inappropriate sexual contact with an inmate.

Following the initial complaint, Littleton was immediately placed on suspension while an investigation commenced. Investigators gathered sufficient probable cause to support the allegations, leading to the issuance of warrants for Littleton’s arrest. On January 3, 2025, Littleton was taken into custody and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

He faces two counts of sexual battery and two counts of malfeasance in office, sexual conduct. Littleton was released on the same day at 7:30 PM after posting a $40,000 bond. He has since been terminated from his position.

Sheriff Mark Wood addressed the incident, stating, “We immediately began our investigation and followed the evidence to where it has taken us, resulting in an arrest of one of our deputies. The dedicated men and women of our department work hard every day to earn and keep the trust of the public, and this type of behavior will not be tolerated.”

Littleton had been employed with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office since 2012. This incident underscores the importance of accountability and transparency within law enforcement.
