Jennings, LA (8/14/24) – On the afternoon of August 13, 2024, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Jennings Police Department received a call from Ochsner Hospital in Jennings. The hospital reported that a 10-month-old girl had been left in a hot car for about 1.5 hours.
The hospital staff worked to obtain a pulse for the child, who remains in critical condition at an emergency center. This incident has raised significant concerns about child safety during the hot summer months in Jennings.
Investigators from the Jennings Police Department began the investigation by interviewing the mother. She explained that she was unexpectedly called into work and inadvertently left the child in the car while she was inside. The mother is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
