Boyce Missing Person Investigation Leads to Arrest of Fugitive Wanted in Colorado

BOYCE, La. (UrbanCast: 10/10/2026) — A missing person investigation in Rapides Parish took an unexpected turn when detectives uncovered an outstanding warrant from Colorado.

The investigation began September 20 when Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) deputies responded to the 3500 block of Louisiana Highway 121. Family members reported that Abri Fabaal Amon had been missing since August 20.

According to the family, Amon had traveled to Florida and had not contacted them since his departure. While gathering information for a national missing person report, deputies discovered Amon had legally changed his name from Johnny David Brady II.

Detectives assigned to the RPSO Boyce Substation began investigating his disappearance. They soon learned that Florida Highway Patrol had located Amon’s abandoned vehicle and towed it.

The discovery raised concerns about a possible abduction. Consequently, RPSO contacted Florida Highway Patrol, which assigned an investigator to assist with the search.

However, the joint investigation uncovered something far different from what investigators initially suspected.

Authorities discovered that Brady had an outstanding Colorado warrant involving alleged sexual misconduct with a juvenile in 2017. According to RPSO, Colorado’s 8th Judicial District confirmed the warrant remained active and authorized extradition from any state.

Investigators also learned that Brady had avoided authorities for approximately nine years.

Florida Highway Patrol subsequently notified U.S. Marshals task forces in Pensacola and Panama City, Florida. Authorities also contacted the U.S. Marshals office in Colorado.

Meanwhile, RPSO detectives continued examining Brady’s background and activities.

On September 23, investigators discovered that authorities in Loudoun County, Virginia, were investigating Amon over separate sexual misconduct allegations. RPSO contacted the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office to exchange information and coordinate assistance.

The investigation gained momentum the following day.

On September 24, RPSO’s Investigative Support Unit identified information suggesting Amon might be living near Grand Bay, Alabama. Detectives contacted the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and requested a welfare check.

They also informed Alabama authorities about the outstanding Colorado warrant.

Mobile County deputies attempted to contact Amon at the suspected residence but could not locate him.

Later that day, a family member contacted RPSO and reported speaking with Amon by telephone. The family member confirmed that Amon was safe.

On September 25, RPSO detectives spoke directly with Amon and verified his safety.

Amon reportedly attributed his lack of communication to problems with older cellular devices. However, he declined to disclose his current location.

Detectives did not reveal that they had identified him as Brady or discovered the Colorado warrant.

At that point, investigators shifted their focus from locating a missing person to apprehending a wanted fugitive. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Violent Offenders Task Force assumed leadership of the apprehension operation.

On October 6, deputy U.S. marshals assigned to the Pensacola and Panama City task force located and arrested Amon.

Authorities booked him into the Mobile County jail in Alabama. RPSO reported that he remained in custody awaiting extradition to Colorado when the agency issued its release.

The sheriff’s office identified the suspect as Johnny David Brady II, also known as Abri Fabaal Amon.

RPSO credited the Florida Highway Patrol, U.S. Marshals and sheriff’s offices in Mobile and Loudoun counties for their assistance.

The agency emphasized that cooperation among multiple law enforcement agencies helped investigators locate and apprehend the fugitive.

RPSO reported that no mugshot was available when it released the information.
