ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 6/25/2026) — A weeks-long investigation by the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit ended with the arrest of an Alexandria man on multiple felony drug charges after agents executed a search warrant at his home.
The investigation began in early June after RADE received community information alleging that Terry Wayne Hobbs, 41, was selling powder cocaine from his residence in the 2900 block of Jackson Street.
Agents investigated the allegations using multiple investigative techniques. As the investigation progressed, authorities determined the information was credible. Investigators then obtained an arrest warrant charging Hobbs with two counts of distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, powder cocaine. They also secured a search warrant for his residence at 2931 Jackson Street.
On June 24, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputies assigned to RADE stopped Hobbs and took him into custody without incident. Shortly afterward, additional agents executed the search warrant at the residence while Hobbs’ wife and minor child were inside.
During the Search
During the search, agents seized approximately 2.5 ounces of powder cocaine, five marijuana plants, an AR-style pistol, Xanax and Hydrocodone pills, drug paraphernalia, and $1,790 in cash. Investigators believe the money is connected to illegal narcotics sales.
Hobbs was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on two counts of distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance. He also faces charges of possession of powder cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Hydrocodone with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, manufacture of marijuana, illegal carrying of a firearm with drugs, possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a minor, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to RADE, Hobbs remains in custody on a $71,000 bond. Authorities also issued civil asset forfeiture paperwork for the seized cash.
