Slidell, LA (6/25/2023) – The Slidell Poice Department reported an officer was injured in a crash during a pursuit.
Shortly before 6 pm, Slidell Police were investigating and attempted to stop an orange Dodge Charger near Highway 11 and Interstate 12.
The suspect vehicle failed to stop and fled from officers. The pursuit led into Lacombe on Highway 190W. During the pursuit, a Slidell Police officer conducted an evasive maneuver to avoid striking another vehicle. In doing so, the officer overturned his police unit into a ditch and struck a culvert.
The suspect vehicle got away, but investigators have promising leads on the driver’s identity. The officer was transported to Lakeview Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
