Alexandria, LA (4/16/2023) – Amariya Alise Lewis’s mother is pleading with all of us to please help her bring her daughter home. This is a call to action for our entire community. We need this child home ASAP. Amartya, if you can, Come Home! We know they made you mad, but we will get it resolved. Don’t do this to your family and friends.
If you are holding her against her will, let her go! Her family deserves her in their life. You have time to let her return to her life and deal with your mistake later. But let her go.
To the Administration and SRO at Bolton High School, who supposedly watched her walk off campus and did not immediately contact her mother, that is appalling if it went down as told to us.
Amariya is a special needs student who requires a different understanding and a different level of compassion. That didn’t happen. This seems to have been preventable.
We reached out to Superintendent Powell this morning, and here is what he said:
Now we wait and hope and pray for her safe return. Let’s find her. Let’s find her right now, today or tomorrow, or the day after, but we must find her immediately.
This is sad, but it could have a better ending once Amariya is safely home.
For everyone involved sake, let’s get her home.
