Deville, La. (10/27/2022) – A Deville man was arrested for multiple sex charges by the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO). The victim is a child under the age of 13.
Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services reported case of possible criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile. Deputies took the initial report and RPSO Special Victims Unit (SVU) Detectives begin their investigation.
During the investigation, allegations of physical and sexual abuse of a minor were made. Detectives were able to identify Timothy Michael Barbat, 35 of Deville, as the suspect.
As their investigation continued, SVU Detectives discovered enough evidense to establish probable cause to obtain warrants on Barbat.
On October 24th, 2022, Detectives took Barbat into custody without incident and booked him into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on several sex crimes charges. Barbat remains in jail at the time of this release being held on a $210,000.00 bond.
SVU Detectives say their investigation is still active and there is a possibility of additional arrests.
