ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 10/29/2026) — Regional transportation leaders will review road safety, long-term planning, and drainage during a public meeting next week.
The Alexandria-Pineville Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will meet Wednesday, November 4, at 10 a.m.

The meeting will take place at the Rapides Area Planning Commission, located at 803 Johnston Street in Alexandria.
Committee members will review several transportation planning matters affecting Alexandria, Pineville, and surrounding communities.
One major discussion will focus on Move 2050, the region’s long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan.
Representatives from DCCM will present updated demographic and socioeconomic information to support the planning process. These updates will help guide discussions about the region’s future transportation needs.
Additionally, the committee will review Louisiana’s 2027 highway safety performance targets.
Members will examine statewide targets established by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). The committee will then consider recommending those targets to the Transportation Policy Committee for adoption.
The agenda also includes an administrative update to the federal fiscal year 2027–2030 Transportation Improvement Program.
Members will review a mileage table and map identifying locally owned roadways eligible for federal aid.
Beyond these discussions, the committee will receive updates on several ongoing regional transportation initiatives.
These include Move 2050 public engagement efforts and the Safe Streets and Roads for All program. Members will also discuss the PROTECT Planning Grant and the Metropolitan Planning Area Roadway Drainage Study.
Together, these initiatives address transportation planning, roadway safety, infrastructure resilience, and future mobility needs throughout the region.
