Alexandria, La. (UrbanCast: 9/16/2024) — Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating an early-morning burglary at a business on Skye Street, just outside the Alexandria city limits.
Deputies responded to the business in the 5900 block of Skye Street around 2 a.m. Sunday, September 13, after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.
When deputies arrived, they found a drive-through side window and the business’s front glass broken.
Deputies secured the perimeter while waiting for a key holder and an Alexandria Police Department K-9 unit.
Deputies and the APD K-9 then entered and cleared the business. RPSO said surveillance video showed the suspect leaving through a rear door as deputies arrived.
Investigators said the suspect wore a dark hoodie, gloves and a mask.
Money, alcohol, smoking devices, lottery tickets and a firearm were reported stolen.
RPSO detectives and the Crime Scene Unit are investigating the burglary.
