ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 9/3/2026) — Alexandria police have confirmed a Wednesday night shooting that left one person injured on Roberts Street.
The Alexandria Police Department responded to the 200 block of Roberts Street around 9:05 p.m. on September 2.
Officers found that one person had been injured in the shooting. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
The confirmation follows preliminary reports UrbanCast received Wednesday night.
Multiple reports of gunfire began reaching UrbanCast around 9:25 p.m. Those reports identified the Roberts Street and Alma Street area.
At the time, one source also reported that someone may have been injured. UrbanCast clearly identified those initial reports as unofficial and unconfirmed.
APD released its first public information about the shooting Thursday morning.
Investigators have not released information about what led to the shooting. Police also have not announced any arrests.
The investigation remains ongoing.
