ALEXANDRIA, La. (9/13/2026) — Video circulating on Facebook of an early Sunday morning arrest involving Alexandria Police Department officers has sparked outrage throughout the entire community.
The video shows several officers surrounding Trey Devon Rosenthal near a pickup truck at a convenience store. Officers can be seen attempting to restrain Rosenthal. Multiple officers appear to deploy Tasers during the encounter.Rosenthal is also seen on the ground with several officers nearby.
According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office booking system, Rosenthal, 32, was booked at 5:46 a.m. Sunday, September 13.
Rosenthal faces four charges: trespassing/remaining after forbidden, resisting an officer, operating while intoxicated first offense, and aggravated resisting a police officer with force or violence.
An updated RPSO booking record lists bonds of $500 for trespassing, $500 for resisting, $1,000 for OWI and $5,000 for aggravated resisting.
The record also shows Rosenthal was released from custody at 1:57 p.m. Sunday.
Witness
One witness who spoke with UrbanCast said Rosenthal and others had gathered at the convenience store after leaving another location.
The witness said Rosenthal was at his parked truck when officers approached. The witness also said officers were directing people to leave the property.
Several questions surrounding the arrest remain unanswered.
It remains unclear what initially prompted officers to approach Rosenthal. It is also unclear what authorities allege Rosenthal did to support the aggravated resisting charge.
Questions also remain about the basis for the operating while intoxicated charge. UrbanCast has not received clarification about who ordered Rosenthal to leave the property before the trespassing charge.
UrbanCast contacted multiple City of Alexandria officials Sunday seeking clarification and the city’s account of the arrest.

UrbanCast asked what prompted officers to approach Rosenthal, what supported the OWI charge, what conduct led to the aggravated resisting charge, and what occurred before officers deployed Tasers.
UrbanCast also requested the incident report, arrest narrative, use-of-force documentation, and body-camera footage from all officers present or involved in the incident.
As of publication, UrbanCast has received no response from the city officials contacted regarding the incident.
