Sabine Parish, La. (UrbanCast: 6/30/20260 – A Sabine Parish man will spend the next 22 years in prison after pleading guilty in a child sexual abuse material case.
Sheriff Aaron Mitchell announced that Yancy Elie Normand, 53, of Noble, was sentenced on June 25, 2026, in the 11th Judicial District Court. Normand received a total sentence of 22 years for possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), possessing sexual abuse of animal images, and possessing a child sex doll.
The investigation began last summer after detectives with the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a tip. Authorities said the report alleged Normand forced another person to view child sexual abuse material.
The tip came through the Louisiana ICAC Task Force, which operates under the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General.
As the investigation progressed, detectives obtained a search warrant for Normand’s residence. During the search, investigators seized several electronic devices and two handcrafted sex dolls resembling juvenile females.
Investigators later executed search warrants on the seized electronic devices. According to the sheriff’s office, forensic examinations uncovered more than 200 illegal files containing child sexual abuse material and bestiality-related content.
Normand has remained in the Sabine Parish Detention Center since his arrest in June 2025.
Sheriff Mitchell emphasized the importance of public tips in child exploitation investigations. He said detectives will continue to aggressively investigate reports involving the exploitation of children.
