Alexandria, La. (5/1/2026) – The Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority will hold a special call meeting on Tuesday, May 5, at 8:30 a.m. at its headquarters on Murray Street.
The GAEDA Special Call Meeting Alexandria May 5 will take place at 720 Murray Street in Alexandria. The meeting is open to the public under Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law.
According to the posted agenda, board members will begin with standard procedures, including invocation, pledge, and roll call. They will then move into active items that cover approvals and funding requests.
First, the board will consider approval of recent meeting minutes and financial statements. These items include opportunities for public comment.
Next, members will review a grant request from Kent Plantation House. The request seeks up to $12,500 for event support and marketing tied to the Le Tour de Bayou event in September.
In addition, the board will consider lease-related resolutions for existing tenants at the Murray Street property. They will also review a proposed policy for conference room use and related fees.
The agenda also includes discussion on a job description for a Manager of Strategic Initiatives. The board may authorize posting the position and seeking applicants.
Finally, members may enter executive session to discuss personnel-related matters, as allowed by law.
