RADE Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest in Alexandria, Seizures of Cocaine, Cash, and Firearm

Alexandria, La. (4/24/2026) – A months-long investigation by the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Unit has led to a major drug arrest in Alexandria. Agents say the case focused on crack cocaine distribution in the city.

On April 16, 2026, RADE agents obtained two arrest warrants for Freddie Lee Henton Jr., 50, of Alexandria, identifying him as a key suspect.

As the investigation progressed, agents secured search warrants for two properties linked to Henton, including his residence on Rose Marie Street and a North Street location identified as a distribution site.

Agents executed searches at both locations and recovered about 82 grams of crack cocaine and 1.04 pounds of powder cocaine.

They also seized a semi-automatic AK-47 style pistol, commonly known as a Draco, along with about eight ounces of promethazine cough syrup.

Investigators Found

Investigators found packaging materials and drug paraphernalia. Pyrex glassware used in manufacturing crack cocaine tested positive for cocaine. Agents also seized more than $8,000 in cash.

Henton was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center, where he was booked on multiple narcotics-related charges.

Authorities say Henton is on parole for a 2018 drug conviction and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was also issued civil asset forfeiture paperwork for the seized cash.

Henton remains in custody on a parole violation. Bond for the additional charges is set at $80,500.

The investigation remains active, and more arrests are possible, according to RADE officials.

The RADE Unit is a multi-agency task force that includes local law enforcement, district attorneys, probation and parole, and federal partners.

Officials continue targeting narcotics trafficking across Central Louisiana. Anyone with information can contact the RADE Unit through its official Facebook page.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Charges include possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and cocaine, firearm possession by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of a firearm with narcotics, possession of a legend drug, drug paraphernalia, transactions involving drug proceeds, two distribution warrants, and a parole violation.
