Gonzales, La. (Sept. 30, 2025) – The Louisiana State Police (LSP) is investigating a trooper-involved shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in Ascension Parish, resulting in one fatality.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened shortly before 2:00 a.m. when a Trooper conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of LA Hwy 431 and LA Hwy 935. During the stop, the Trooper discharged his service weapon.
One subject was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The Trooper involved was not injured.
The Louisiana State Police Force Investigation Unit (FIU) and the State Police Crime Lab are processing the scene and continuing to gather evidence. Officials emphasized that this remains an active investigation, and additional details will be released as they become available.
Authorities are urging anyone with information, photos, or video related to the incident to come forward.
