Man Recovered from Mississippi River Identified Through New Facial Reconstruction Effort

DARROW, LA (May/12/2025) – A man recovered from the Mississippi River over 40 years ago remains unidentified despite ongoing efforts.

On February 2, 1982, the body of an unknown white male was found near Darrow, Louisiana. The man recovered from the Mississippi River was approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and wore a plaid shirt, blue jeans, and blue Adidas sneakers.

The LSU FACES Lab has now released a new forensic facial reconstruction to help identify him. Authorities believe the updated image may bring fresh leads in the decades-old case.

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, no family has come forward, and no match has been made in any missing persons database. However, officials hope the facial reconstruction will spark recognition from the public.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-621-4636 or anonymously by texting 847411. You can also submit tips to Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867) or visit www.crimestoppers225.com.

Every tip matters. Even the smallest detail could help return this man to the family he may have left behind.

UrbanCast and InvolvedInItAll.com will continue to follow this case and report any developments.
