ALEXANDRIA, La. (12/3/2024) – The second pedestrian killed on MacArthur Drive in Alexandria in less than 30 days has been identified as 66-year-old Anthony Butler of Alexandria, Louisiana.
The tragic incident occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024, at approximately 7:45 PM in the 700 block of MacArthur Drive near the Cottonwood Drive Crossover.
According to the Alexandria Police Department, Butler was crossing the southbound travel lane of MacArthur Drive when he was struck by a single vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Butler succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved in the crash provided routine toxicology samples, which have been submitted for analysis. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the driver or the vehicle involved.
This case is currently under investigation. The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance.
