Tragic Update: Explosion in Ragley Claims Life of 16-Year-Old, Five Others Hospitalized

Ragley, LA (8/31/2024) – State Fire Marshal investigators have confirmed that seven people were inside the home during the explosion in Ragley.

Tragically, a 16-year-old did not survive the blast. Five other victims were hospitalized with various injuries, and one toddler survivor is now being cared for by relatives.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy for this family and community,” said State Fire Marshal Chief Bryan J Adams. The investigation into the explosion in Ragley remains active, with authorities working diligently to uncover the cause of this devastating event.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, in the 1100 block of Pullin Road. They were met with a large debris field, fire, and multiple injured survivors.

The explosion in Ragley has shaken the community, and officials are doing everything possible to provide answers. The investigation continues, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
