Hineston Woman Killed in Rapides Parish Crash on Louisiana Highway 121

A Hineston woman was killed in a Rapides Parish crash on Louisiana Highway 121 near Highway 1199 on August 2, 2024.

The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. when 40-year-old Tori Williford attempted to overtake several vehicles in a no-passing zone. Her 2004 Ford Explorer collided with a 2014 GMC Terrain that was turning left into a private driveway.

Williford, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in her vehicle, including a 2-year-old child, were also ejected and sustained moderate injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The occupants of the GMC Terrain, who were properly restrained, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

Louisiana State Police Troop E is investigating the crash where a Hineston woman was killed. Routine toxicology samples have been collected and submitted for analysis.

While not all crashes are survivable, proper seat belt use can significantly reduce the risk of death. Additionally, wearing seat belts can greatly minimize the severity of injuries in accidents. Therefore, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained can mean the difference between life and death.
