Alexandria, LA – (March 31, 2024) – The Alexandria community mourns the passing of beloved Pastor, Col. Joseph Martin, Jr., USMC, Retired, who peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital at the age of 75.
In honor of Col. Martin’s extraordinary life and service, funeral arrangements have been announced by his family.
A Wake Service was held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Second Union Missionary Baptist Church, located at 6436 Old Baton Rouge Hwy, Alexandria, LA 71302. The service will provided an opportunity for friends, family, and community members to pay their respects from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, reflecting on the impact of Col. Martin’s life and legacy.
The Funeral Service of Honor, commemorating Pastor, Col. Joseph Martin, Jr., USMC, Retired, will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Randolph Riverfront Center, situated at 707 Second Street, Alexandria, LA 71301. Public viewing and visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday and will continue until the start of the service, which is scheduled to commence promptly at 11:00 am.
Following the service, Final Committal Rites will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville, Louisiana, offering a final farewell to a man who dedicated his life to faith, service, and community.
