SHREVEPORT, La. (UrbanCast: 9/27/2026) — Seven people were wounded during an early-morning mass shooting at a Shreveport house party Saturday, according to the Shreveport Police Department. One woman suffered life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Crestmoor Drive around 3:55 a.m. on September 26. They encountered multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Police secured the property, provided aid and detained several people while investigators worked to determine what happened.
A woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso was found at the scene. Additional victims later arrived at local hospitals and an SPD substation with injuries from the shooting. Investigators have confirmed that seven people were struck by gunfire.
Police said the gunfire erupted as the house party was ending following a verbal confrontation between two men. Investigators believe the dispute may have been connected to an earlier physical altercation involving other people at the gathering.
The incident meets the Gun Violence Archive definition of a mass shooting, which counts incidents where at least four people are shot, excluding the shooter. Definitions of a mass shooting can vary among government agencies and research organizations.
No arrest has been announced. Detectives are working to identify the shooter and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police are asking witnesses and anyone with cellphone video from the gathering to come forward.
