Shreveport police make an arrest for a June homicide in north Shreveport

Shreveport, La. (9/6/2022) – On Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, Shreveport Police Department Patrol officers responded to the 1700 block of Jamison on reports of a shooting that had just occurred. Responding officers located a white vehicle that had been struck multiple times by gunfire.

A victim who appeared to have been inside of the vehicle was found to have been shot multiple times and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Shreveport Fire Department. Another victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators with the Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Units were summoned to the scene. CSIU collected items of evidence and investigators canvassed the neighborhood searching for witnesses and video. At this time no suspect has been named.

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office took custody of the decedent.

On September 3, 2022, Shreveport Police came in contact with Regge Williams in a stolen vehicle. Williams was also found to wanted on an outstanding armed robbery warrant.

Based on new information Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Detective were able to determine that Williams was also believed responsible for the June 7th homicide of Kabrodrick Mitchell.

Multiple witnesses came forward after the arrest of this violent suspect.

Regge Williams was charged with one count of 2nd-degree murder.
