Shots Fired Call Leads to Barricaded Suspect Arrest in Tioga

TIOGA, La. (11/29/2024) – A barricaded suspect arrest in Tioga followed a shots-fired call on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 7:44 PM. Patrol deputies responded to the 3900 block of Rosebud Lane, where a disturbance escalated between two men, one armed with a knife and another with a firearm.

Witnesses reported a shot was fired toward the knife-wielding individual before the armed suspect retreated into a residence. Deputies arrived, gave verbal commands for the suspect to exit, but he refused to comply.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) SWAT team was called to resolve the situation safely. Negotiations began shortly after SWAT arrived on the scene. Around 9 PM, one suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

The second suspect remained inside but surrendered following continued negotiations just before 10 PM. Both individuals were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked on multiple charges.
